New Media Business Breakfast Seminar - June - 14.07.2008

“New Approaches to Publishing for a New Media Landscape”

On 18 June Parkwell hosted a breakfast seminar on “New Approaches to Publishing for a New Media Landscape” at the One Aldwych Hotel in London.  The speaker was Chris Lloyd, the Assistant Managing Editor of The Telegraph Media Group.

Chris has worked across a variety of commercial areas at the Telegraph Media Group both on and offline, before moving across to the editorial side of the business.  He has played a key role on the team that changed the Telegraph from a traditional newspaper group to a leading edge multi-media news business.

Chris described the approach adopted in the research and planning for this strategic change and how the implementation of the ‘hub and spoke’ multi-media newsroom at their new offices in Victoria has been critical for success.

This approach has enabled the different news teams and editors to work closely together with print, audio, video and the internet to deliver up to the minute news, features and other articles to a wider range of end users than ever before that is consistent across all delivery channels.

His presentation was thought provoking, entertaining and very well received.

The event was very well attended, with more than 30 senior executives from across the industry who responded with a range of questions.  Their feedback after the event has been excellent.

Parkwell will be holding more seminars in the future and we’ll keep you informed of our next event.
